Glitzy, Glamorous, and Fabulous! 

These are just a few of the words used to describe the “Celebrating Life” Casino Night Benefit the Team Joseph Committee held at Kingwood Country Club on Saturday, April 2nd to honor Joseph and the Stanton Family.  It was an incredible night as the Kingwood Community came out in all their finery to bid on amazing auction items, play at the casino tables, have a bite to eat, and enjoy the company of friends and family.  The auction included items such as a trip to Maui, an All-star shirt autographed by Yao Ming, (who attended the function with his beautiful wife), a helmet signed by many of the current Texans team, a trip to Napa, a trip to Washington DC with a private, after hours tour of the Capitol and the Monument, many different types of jewelry, a swimmers delight basket, two Vera Bradley sets, interior design consultations, and so much more!  We had over 300 items generously donated by local and national businesses, as well as private donations.  The Team Joseph Committee was bowled over by the support before and at the end of the event, as we were still receiving donations up to an hour before the evening started! When the doors opened for our guests to arrive we wondered how many would come, but it didn’t take long before the line was out the door!  We anticipate that 90% of the people who bought tickets attended, which just goes to show the love and support the Kingwood Community has for Joseph and the Stanton Family!  We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support, not just for the donations and bids, but for the way everyone continues to step up and want to help! 

We would also like to take this time to thank our families.  Without their love, support and patience none of this would be have been possible.  Many of the committee members have worked long hours, and their families have been incredibly understanding and supportive!

So now we are onto the next event, the Swim for Team Joseph Swim Meet on April 9th at Summer Creek HS.  No need to register before, just come with your entry fee ($10 for individual event $20 per relay team), swim suit and towel and you will be good to go!  We look forward to seeing you all there!  And all you cooks out there who think their chili recipe is the best -- we need you!  Sign up now for the chili cook-off and share your creativity!  Click on the “Swim Meet” button at the top right corner of our Home Page to get signed up!
